Minecraft Gets Twitch-y Thanks to new Partnership For Integrated Streaming


Twitch and Mojang have joined forces to provide an integrated streaming experience in the indie phenomenon Minecraft the two companies announced at MineCon today. Players who play on PC and Mac with a Twitch account will be able to easily stream their games to their Twitch.tv channels "soon," according to the press announcement.



Matthew DiPietro (Vice President of Marketing at Twitch) said in the same press release, that Minecraft had "struck an extremely powerful chord" with Twitch users. The popularity of Minecraft is growing and it shows that people enjoy watching video games, even though they're not the most popular games for eSports. Expect a watershed moment for both spectators and players once the ability to easily broadcast gameplay directly to Twitch begins live."

Mojang's Minecraft PC and MAC users will soon be able to broadcast their games on Twitch with a click of a button



SAN FRANCISCO 2 November 3rd, 2013 Twitch is the world's most popular video platform and a community for gamers, announced today at the sold-out MineCon convention an agreement of partnership with Mojang to offer broadcasting features for Minecraft. The integration of Twitch into the PC and MAC versions of the most popular game lets players broadcast directly to their Twitch channels. The Twitch function will be available shortly.



Published and developed by Mojang Minecraft launched on May 17, 2009. Since it's launch, it's become the most popular PC Sandbox adventure game, with more than 13 million units in sales on PC with more than 33 million units sold in sales across all platforms. It has also been the recipient of numerous notable awards, including five Game Developers Choice Awards at the 2011 Game Developers Conference. As a result, MINECON 2013 Mojang's annual Minecraft convention has sold out with more than 7,500 attendees eager to find out what's next for one of the most creative games ever made and to meet the team behind it.



Twitch has seen its popularity rise and Twitch's Top 20 Games page displaying it every month. This has been the case since Twitch was first launched in 2011.
